Sponsored by SoleSociety.com

Sole Society is the newest, most exciting shoe membership website, offering fashionistas a monthly selection of on-trend, designer-quality shoes recommended to match their personal style. Style-savvy women now have an easy, fun way to find their perfect shoe “solemates,” each month, without the hefty price tag of a personal stylist.

How It Works

Registering for Sole Society is easy and does not require purchase. When visiting the site for the first time, women are invited to take a short, fun style quiz, selecting their preferred celebrity, runway and style images, to determine their “Style Bio.” At the beginning of each month, each woman will see a new collection of shoes in her “closet,” recommended based on her personal style and taste in shoes.

Once a shopper makes her first purchase, she is officially a “member” of Sole Society and is eligible to receive a new pair of shoes each month for only $49.95.   Members can choose to purchase one or more pairs, skip the month or see a new selection of styles – whatever fits their mood! Incredible styles, free shipping, easy returns, and the option to skip any month make Sole Society the ultimate shoe shopping fantasy.

You Get Exotic Elegance with J. Qosette Shoes

      _MG_0032

When it comes to shoes what made you want to become a designer? Was it a general love of shoes or was it something more?

I decided to become a designer when I began to get frustrated with not finding that ideal shoe! Think about how you have an outfit put together and you know the exact shoe that would go with it, but then you can never find “that” shoe! You see a host of similarities but nothing dead on. And I found myself always saying, “Ugh this shoe would look so much better if it had this on it!” or “If I could make the heel like this, and add this to the front…” Of course every woman loves shoes, but this was the real push to, okay…it’s time to put my design major and creativity to use!

Your designs are unique and out of the box. I love the feather touch on the Majesty Sandals. What inspires your designs?

My inspiration for my designs comes from my environment. And when I speak of the environment I mean…at the park, in my bedroom, in the car, watching a movie! Very random things…but I allow my creativity to produce the designs into making sense.

Believe it or not, “Majesty” came from a peacock on The Atlanta Zoo commercial! Crazy huh?

      _MG_0169

Where did the name J Qosette come from?

      J. Qosette which really is J. Cosette came from my mothers first name initial and her middle name, which is also her mother’s (my grandmother’s) first name! I had to change the C to a Q for legal reasons, but it works! I love it!

My grandmother was a excellent sewer, she made all of my mother, aunts, and uncles clothes during their childhood years. And my mom went to college to pursue a fashion design degree….so, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!

When it comes to shoe design what would you sets you apart from other brands?

I definitely think it’s my creativity and ability to put textures, and colors together that seem very different but makes complete sense! I love to just push myself out of the box!

      _MG_0087 facebook

If you could describe the style of your brand in 3 words which would you choose and why?

      Exotic, Elegant, and Endangered!

Why, because they are different, but totally wearable, and very scare as far as the designs go.

We like that! Let me ask you something. Women love shoes for a variety of reasons. How do you want women to feel when they wear your shoes?

I want them to feel empowered! I want any woman to be able to wear my shoes! I don’t want anyone thinking they have to be listed in a certain rank or class of a woman to wear my shoes! If you got style, regardless of what someone else thinks….you can wear my shoes!

Will your brand branch out into accessories i.e.. handbags, belts and that sort of thing as well?

Absolutely! Accessories, perfumes, handbags, and books! Coming very soon!

      _MG_0109

Where do you see your brand in the next 5 years?

Everywhere! TV, Movies, Red Carpet Events, Museums, and etc.

We wish you all the very best!

      THE WINNER IS JENNIFER B!

DIY Bold Color Yarn Covered Hoops Tutorial

      P1010094

When I saw this project for hoops that you can do with almost any color yarn I was excited. I know color blocking is a trend, but I’d rather limit it to accessories than having to go out and buy lots of things to incorporate into my wardrobe that will be outdated once the trend fades. They are cheap and easy to make, so that’s win win in my book and you know that every dollar I save will be poured into buying fab shoes. I’m hoping you want to make a pair too.

      P1010080

      Supplies:

      Here’s what you’ll need:

      • Yarn. Bright Colors are best this season. ($1.19)
      • Bare hoops. They can be made out of anything you want, gold, silver etc. Mine are a silver tone. ($1.99)
      • Glue. I used the tacky glue because it dries transparent. ($.97)
      • Scissors. You basically just need them to cut the length of your yarn and then trim the ends when you’re finished.
      • P1010086

        P1010091

      Instructions:

Cut a long piece of colored yarn, wrap it completely around the earring hoop and make a knot.

After you make the first knot loop one strand of the yarn to the right and the other to the left. Wrap them around the front of the hoop. Cross the left side of yarn over the right side of the yarn and make another knot.

Continue looping and knotting in the “front” of the earring. If you see some spacing just push the knotted yarn up on the hoop for a neater look and continue looping and knotting until you complete the hoop.

Once the hoop is done just double knot the end and dab a bit of blue onto both the beginning and the end of the yarned hoop and then start on the second one.

My hoops weren’t very big (2 inches) however, you may want to secure it on something so that it doesn’t move when you’re trying to make the knots.

Sidenote: I had to be careful because in an effort to make sure that the knots are tight and not lumpy you can easily pull too hard and pop the yarn. I had to loosen my grip a little.

The other thing I forgot to do is measure the yarn before I started making knots. This is important so that you’ll have enough and won’t have to do a patch job adding more yarn if your run out. I’ll revise this with the measurements once I do the lime green hoops. But in the meantime, make sure you have more than enough yarn. Start with a long piece, having too much is better than having too little.

      Edit with measurement coming soon.
