What does it mean to be an amazing woman and what makes you so amazing?
There are so many things that can make a woman amazing. We are all so multi-faceted. I believe any woman who lives her life authentically, being who she knows she was created to be, doing what she knows she was created to do without apology and without compromise is amazing. I live what I consider an amazing life because I finally learned how to live it on my terms. I love what I do and because I’m not trying to be anything except who I know that I am, I can do it well and with 100% of my personality, my heart and my soul. I am amazing because I am authentically me…and I’m okay with that.
Who and/or what inspired you to be what you are today?
This list would take forever to write because there are so many people and experiences that inspire me all the time. Some from a positive perspective, as in “do what they did” and others from a not so positive perspective, as in “never, ever do it like they did”. I’ve read life-changing books, been mentored in life and business by some of the best people and it all works together to create the woman that I am today. However, I would without a doubt not have the level of faith for what looks impossible nor the tenacity to relentlessly pursue greatness without the teaching and lifestyle-example of Drs. I.V. and Bridget Hilliard. During the years that I consider to be my “coming into adulthood” years, right out of college, they showed me how to expand my faith for more out of life. They taught me how to be persistent in faith… how to BELIEVE and create the future that I wanted. And finally, the people who I consider my true friends, confidantes and partners in life inspire me daily. It’s intentionally not a large group and those who are in it are amazing themselves. They push me to be greater, dream bigger and be better. I couldn’t imagine my life without them.
If you could teach the aspiring women of the world one thing what would that be?
I would teach aspiring women to recognize the power that comes from believing in themselves and the God-given strength that is already in them. It’s my conviction that when we see ourselves as God sees us and have unshakable belief that we are more than capable, more than deserving and more than able to achieve the dreams and desires of our hearts, we’ll accelerate towards those dreams and desires and experience life beyond what we ever imagined.
What is your favorite quote or a motto that you live by?
Just because someone believes something about you doesn’t make it true. You have to know who you are and the motives of your own heart. This is how you live “free” from the bondage of approval addiction. At the end of the day, you teach people how to treat you.
If you could how would you endeavor to change the world?
I already am. I believe changing the world starts wherever you are. I give my all to help business owners share their brilliance, gifts and talents with the world, that’s changing it. I give to support causes and organizations that I love, that’s changing it too.
