Fashion and Confections. That was the assumed theme at I.M. Sweet Soiree at Covo Trattoria in Harlem last Thursday night. A room full of beautiful people celebrating the launch of Ilene Miriam Pastry Studio–a Double Team Sisterprenership backed by Tiffany Freeland and Lauren Beamon.

When it comes to beauty you can tell it was good given. The Fashion sense is seen immediately and definitely goes without saying between the two beauties because both were dressed to the nines. The talent on the other hand… well that showed in the “Eeeeews and Aaaaahs” of the guests as we all responded to the I.M. Mini cupcakes being served during the dessert hour. From the Banana Pudding Mini Cupcakes adorned with the tiniest Vanilla wafers I’ve ever seen in my entire life, to the burst of flavors in the Red Velvet Cake Bites.

The scene was almost surreal as the lighting right away set the tone for a fun filled night. A mash up of all of today’s chart toppers being play by the always party ready DJ Nickiee, Cocktails being mixed with Lemon and Strawberry slithers and infused Ciroc Vodka ice cubes, PERFECTION! Amidst the ambiance of the evening the celebration was for the launch of I.M. Pastry Studio a Couture Confections bakery based in Harlem as well as to celebrate the birthday of Lauren.

The Lady power behind the business Tiff and Lauren both did not hesitate to say that “Believing in yourself and your dream as well as the product that you are putting out FIRST…is the key to making it in any business.” “That and having an amazing supportive team around you,” says Lauren Beamon.

By happenstance while mingling with guest I met Lauren’s mother and I can see where the support and encouragement comes from. When I asked Lauren’s mom, how does it fell to have such a successful daughter she replied, “It’s a blessing because I know I did well in raising her.” I would have liked to get a question in to Tiffany, but I was side tracked by the Patent Christian Louboutin Platform pumps she was wearing.

The only question I could muster to her was, “Hi I’m Tanisha Watson I’m hear covering for the shoes and Fashion site “Princess Dominique Dishes Fashion’… may I get a picture of you in your shoes?”  And she responded with an astounding “Yes! Sure!” GAAH!!!!!! STOKED!!!!! EXCITED!!!! Yes because she allowed me to snap shots of her LouB’s.

The proprietors of I.M. Pastry Studio have a keen way of paying attention to every minute detail when preparing their confections as well is when they are mingling with the guest and definitely potential clients. When asking Lauren and Tiffany why pastries and candies in couture style, the ladies both replied without hesitation and in unison “Because every Fashionista has a Sweet Tooth!”

So there you have it, the premise and main focus as to why I.M. Pastry Studio was born. Named after the late grandmother of Tiffany’ Freeland, whom was an amazing pastry chef by right. Tiffany and Lauren are keeping the baking tradition alive passed down from her Granny with a modern and fashion forward twist.
