Barbie with a cigarette??? Are you kidding me? Dress her up anyway you want, as any cultural icon, and she’s still a TOY, marketed to kids. I have a problem with the cigarette (if that’s not just a joke!).
If it weren’t for the cigarette, I’d think she was perfect! I’d love to buy something like this for my niece, but she’s a kid and CoCo has a ciggy in her mouth, so no go. I love the rest of the look, though!
While Barbie may have been created for kids, this is obviously a collector’s item and thus not meant to be played with. It’s geared towards adults not children…but regardless if it is given a child the cigarette should be removed.
Yes the cigarette is a problem for me and so was the Sugar Daddy Ken doll but it’s obvious now that the dolls seems to be targeted more at collectors. They don’t even care about kids anymore because their dolls end up in the bottom of their closets–not all but some.
