Elena thank you for your kind comments. You're right, abuse is abuse. None is any less or more detrimental than the other. Get out no matter which kind your are experiencing.

Jackie thanks for linking us!

Rachel you're welcome. I pray that people continue to share the message long after October ends.

wow...first...may i just say...great article...such a horrible subject...but i...just like you...believe that it needs to be in the forefront of everyone's mind...
i also like that you touched upon sexual abuse, financial abuse...etc...i think too many times...people dismiss someone being verbally abused as "ok" because they are not being hit...
abuse is abuse...my heart breaks for those in situations that they feel that they can't get out of...or are somehow made to believe that this is love" my prayer is that someone in their life will step in...

This is a short article I read in Associated Press that I wanted to post here:

Former player Chuck Knoblauch accused of choking wife, arrested

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS (CP) – 1 day ago

September 30, 2009 - HOUSTON — Former major leaguer Chuck Knoblauch has been charged with assaulting his common-law wife.

A judge set Knoblauch's bond at US$10,000 after he appeared in court Tuesday. According to a criminal complaint, Knoblauch's wife told police he hit her in the face and then choked her at their Houston home on Friday.

Knoblauch's lawyer did not immediately return a telephone call Tuesday.

The 41-year-old former infielder is a Houston native and a four-time all-star who played for the New York Yankees, Minnesota Twins and Kansas City Royals from 1991-02.

Knoblauch was one of more than 80 players who were accused of using performance-enhancing drugs in the 2007 Mitchell Report on baseball's steroids era.

Knoblauch later acknowledged using performance enhancers.

>>>

My question, what is to blame? The drugs? Or was their abuse in the relationship the entire time and she finally got tired of it and got the strength to leave?
