Jypsea Rock Goddess Black Leather Painted Splashed Fingerless Gloves

You may remember when I first interviewed the owner of Jypsea and then we did an awesome giveaway. As I try to keep up with her (which is hard) I keep discovering her fabulously creative mind. I want a pair of these! She suggests you wear them with a cocktail dress. Yep! I would do that. Check her out and shop at Jypsea.com, and tell her that Princess Dominique sent you over there to browse.

Barbie News: The Sugar Daddy Ken Doll Causes Controversy–And it Should!

Barbie News: The Sugar Daddy Ken Doll Causes Controversy

Barbie News: The Sugar Daddy Ken Doll Causes Controversy

Society is soooooo warped. It’s always something. First Barbie was teaching little girls how to play house before they even hit puberty and then having the Ken doll was supposed to persuade them to have a boyfriend, as they practiced out scolding dialog on the doll. Then she was nudged to crave a car and a house in Maibu, which Ken was urged to buy for her. Now a Sugar Daddy Ken doll? Thankfully I have no little children and if I did, this would be totally off limits. Yes, I get it, it’s just a doll and they mention something about “Sugar” being his dog (which I don’t believe) BUT I think the best Barbie idea I actually gelled with was when she had a career. That’s a self-sufficient lesson for all girls in my opinion. Get a job Barbie! And Ken, flip flops and pink leash? I know at least 3 male fashion bloggers who could have designed a better outfit for Ken. Mattel executives should be flogged for this.

This year is Barbie’s 50th anniversary, but lately, it’s been the iconic doll’s companion, Ken, that’s been getting all the attention: A new Ken doll called “Sugar’s Daddy Ken” is prompting snickers for its suggestive-sounding name.

In fact, several Web sites refer to the doll, which is due to make its official debut next year, by a slightly different name — “Sugar Daddy Ken.”

Dressed in an ornately-patterned, bright green jacket, pink polo shirt and white pants, the doll is part of toy giant Mattel’s new Palm Beach doll line, which is geared for adult Barbie collectors and supposed to exemplify classic Palm Beach fashion. (For a full picture of Sugar’s Daddy Ken, click here.)

Mattel says the doll’s name is in reference to Ken’s pet — Sugar, a white West Highland terrier that Ken leads on a pink leash. The dog is included with the doll, along with several accessories, including sandals, sunglasses and swim trunks.

Asked about the possibility that the doll’s name may be misinterpreted, a Mattel spokeswoman wasn’t fazed.

“At the end of the day, this collection is targeted toward adults,” said spokeswoman Michelle Chidoni. “While the name of the doll does refer back to the dog, I think people are going to interpret it as they want to interpret it.”

The Weekly Shoe: Report Signature Dante Sandals

Report Signature Dante Sandals

Hola fashionable guys and gals. We are starting a new feature on our site called The Weekly Shoe. Because I am venturing into all things beautiful including interior design and other gadgets and beautifus stuff, I don’t want to stray away from featuring my first love: SHOES. This segment will keep me accountable to the whole lot of you who love shoes as much as I do and visit this website just because of that. Each shoe feature will be blogged and we welcome your comments as to whether you love it, would buy it or hate it and would never spend your hard earned cash on it. Your participation is so important to us!

The Weekly Shoe will also be featured in the upper right hand corner of the website for easy clicking. We encourage you to tell your friends about this feature and make sure to (click here) to subscribe to Princess Dominique Does Fashion so that you don’t miss our shoe picks every week. Remember you can also follow us on Facebook and Twitter too.

Note: When you subscribe you will get the verify link in your email via Feedburner, “click it” don’t delete it or else you won’t be officially subscribed and you’ll be wondering what happened to the shoes every week. We don’t want that, we want you in the know. With that said, here is this coming week’s shoe…

Before you pull out the boots for the winter, take a gander at these babies! The first pair of Report shoes I ever purchased was earlier this year. They were the yellow Filmore. These are playful and have a kind of zipper thing going on. I think it would be perfect with leather!

Report’s Dante sandal mixes old-world glamour and modern design for fabulous results. This night-out lovely features a texturally rich zippered ruffle atop its smooth satin strap that marries well with dresses, femme tuxedos, and knockout minis. A sky-high heel and sassy T-strap profile flatter coming and going.

Baker Stud Boots – Going, Going, Gone!

I hate it when a boot, sandal or shoe gets away from me. I’ve been stalking this boot since 2008 hoping and praying that it comes back “IN STOCK” but there is no such blessing. I’m still waiting though. I can think of a dozen ways easily that I would rock these.

DROOL OVER THEM HERE.
