Stephen Fowler to Sue Wife Swap

I hadn’t heard about Stephen Fowler on Wife Swap, but then I’m not too fond of the concept of the show. Here’s the news:

The tale of Stephen Fowler, a.k.a. “the worst husband in the world,” is what we call a “talker.” Check out the several hundred SFGate comments following Chronicle staff writer Justin Berton’s story ( www.sfgate.com/ZGEM) on the San Franciscan’s appearance on ABC-TV’s so-called reality show “Wife Swap.” Not to mention the gazillion other Internet postings from near and far. That apologies have since flowed has not slowed the angry avalanche. Fowler, a renewable energy maven, isn’t talking publicly, but knowing the Web world as we do, not everything said about him is necessarily accurate, including the business affiliations ascribed to him.

We do know of two San Francisco environmental organizations that now count Fowler as an ex-board member. A spokesman for ForestEthics said little beyond the fact that the organization has since received e-mails inquiring about him. In a statement, Pacific Environment said Fowler’s “behavior represented on the show absolutely does not reflect the organization’s values and ideals.”

One question outstanding: Even if Fowler’s performance, as has been claimed, was choreographed by the show’s producers, why would he agree to it in the first place?

Where is Rihanna’s Support System?

Is somebody going to come to Rihanna’s rescue? I mean seriously? Her father chimed in on the incident and seemed kind of lukewarm. If she were my daughter there would be a serious “Brown Hunt” on. All of the other celebrities are too neutral (might hurt their careers) to take a stand. Please never ever let me be so tangled up in Hollywood or popular culture to speak my mind. I mean as a Bajan woman I’m personally offended. I say fry Chris Brown like chicken.

Singer Rihanna’s camp has declined to officially comment on Chris Brown’s apology statement, but sources say that the “Umbrella” crooner is “appalled” by Brown’s statement.

“All of us, including Rihanna, don’t understand how he can say he’s sorry on the one hand, but still… does not admit any guilt,” a Barbados pal of Rihanna tells the Chicago Sun-Times. “He should have expressed more contrition.”

After a week of negative press for Chris subsequent to the alleged abuse of Rihanna, Brown released a statement saying he was “sorry and saddened… over what transpired,” but did not go into detail about the altercation.

A source close to the Rihanna told the newspaper that RiRi is “royally pissed off” at what she calls Brown’s “cavalier and arrogant statement.”

Both singers are currently keeping a low profile. Chris is due in court March 5.
