100 Things

We understand that there are many curious souls out there who may be just as fascinated with fashion as she is with design, glamour and style so we will let Miss Princess Dominique share 100 things about herself (besides the fact that she collects and compulsively hoards shoes) so that you can understand why she does what she does here on this website and what makes her tick tock.
1. I love words and especially adore the way they court and woo each other other before they decide to marry.
2. That’s why it’s only natural that I’m a poet–and a pretty potent one at that.
3. My favorite poet is Pablo Neruda.

7. I get totally smitten with the beach and the lull of the ocean, it relaxes me.
8. A glass of sweet red wine and a vintage aged white cheddar normally tops the moment off perfectly.
9. But it means nothing at all if I don’t have my husband to share it with.
10. I used to work at Dillard’s in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. It was their shoe department of course and it was mainly for the discount and the heads up on summer and winter boot sales.
11. I believe that all trust fund babies should be forced to work retail for a least a full year before they inherit a dime.
12. I tremble a little bit when I see a vintage looking dress with princess seams that I really love.

14. I really really dig high heels.
15. My ideal heel height is 5 inches.
16. I have so much fun pairing really expensive shoes with a truly inexpensive dress.
17. For example there are a great pair of $735 Louboutin’s that I’m eyeing that would go perfect with a striped cotton oversize Old Navy tank dress and pulled together with a jazzy belt.
18. I have a weird habit of planning events around cute outfits I want to buy.
19. I realize that’s just an excuse (a justification) to buy the outfit.

34. When it comes to fashion I’m partial to anything in yellow, black, brown and taupe.
35. I never used to like pink because it seemed so girlish and forcefed.
36. But now pink has grown on me a bit. I have a few dresses and a couple of pairs of pink shoes now.
37. I think kissing is so romantic.
38. My husband and I vow to do it as often as we both can.
39. We can’t wait to renew our wedding vows.

58. I love TheTruth.com commercials.
59. I love daring fashion, but when I asked what I should wear when I went to see Transformers 2 my son had the nerve to say that I should dress up as a Decepticon *dead*

69. I truly believe that people should wear and buy fashions that fit their body type and not because it looks pretty on a hanger, a mannequin or good in a magazine.
70. It took years for me to learn to not react like Pavlov’s dog to the word “SALE”.
71. Now I only watch certain items and wait for only “those” items to go on sale and then buy them.
72. I don’t understand people who go into the stores and buy things they don’t need all willy nilly and come home and still don’t have anything to wear to a special event if one should pop up.

92. Well, maybe I shouldn’t say one of a kind, maybe more like limited edition pieces.

94. Love should make you want to stay familiar with your partner–touch is part of that.

96. I am an accessory minimalist.
97. I can’t stand the notion that people think that scantily clad equals sexy.
