My Sugar Addiction
July 29, 2008 – 7:02 am
I have a sweet tooth. I don’t know why I crave it so much, desire it so much or just have to have it all the time. When I say sweet tooth, a can of sugary Coke or Pepsi won’t do. I can run down a list of candy that I would sandblast a house on Halloween if I heard they were giving it out by the fist full. I don’t know how to cure this. Some call it a carb addition since sugar is mostly a carb and therein lies why I need constantly restart my workout. I remember back in the day when they used to run a Snickers commercial and had you convinced that you can skip lunch or if you can’t take a minute for lunch just buy a Snickers and it would satisfy you and tide you over. The only thing they didn’t warn you about was the sugar rush and then sugar low that follows that would inevitably have you craving more sugar. I’m learning my lesson and I’m weening myself off of sugar slowly, but it’s not easy. Sugar is in everything, even diet food, so I feel like I’m fighting an uphill battle. Every day I say, no sugar today and by the end of the day, you’ve guessed it, sugar. Pray for a sister.
