SOHH reports that former Roc-A-Fella CEO Damon Dash no longer has the licensing rights to popular sneaker company Pro-Keds. The decision to remove Dash from his 2004 license was based on re-creating a new look for it’s 60th Anniversary.

CEO Greg Ribatt said in a statement,“We thank Damon for his partnership and efforts on the PRO-Keds brand over the past few years, and we look forward to re-launching the brand under the Stride Rite organization to maximize the brand’s full potential. We plan to tap our archives and re-issue the classic styles with fresh new design details, and to build on the brand’s vintage position with a new brand image.”

Pro-Keds was a popular brand on the New York Hip Hop scene back in the 1980s.

I saw something on tv like a documentary in which he tried to play it off like he owned PRO-Keds and suckered people into wearing them again. I nevered liked dude. I only watched the show to see if girl would grow up and leave him. And now I hear the show is coming back? Bahhhh!

I am crushing on this bag and have been for a year now. I wanted it in black leather, brown leather and off white. It’s only available now in dialux fabric now. I’ll take it! I need a black bag bad. I deserve to treat myself especially in this economic crisis. I wouldn’t put my Gucci frames in any other kind of bag. Help a Princess, click the banner, it’s down there in the blank space area below.

Rachel Zoe is Joy Bryant’s Femininity Godmother

Joy Bryant is a tomboy. She will admit it herself. She is so, t-shirt and jeans that it’s not even funny. I mean, hands shoved deep down in her pockets, sucking on a Blow Pop that it’s borderline cool. *lol* Seriously. I’ve become semi-addicted to Rachel Zoe’s show and I’ve watched her transform Joy Bryant into a flirty feminine girly girl. One episode she picked out a pale plum dress and it must have been a cool evening and the dress was cute with a keyhole opening in the front and they were haggling over what she should wear over top of it and Joy (who pulls no punches) told her that if they couldn’t decide that she would wear it to the red carpet even with a black biker jacket. I almost fell out laughing. Hilarious! I mean, she’s a tomboy. What did they expect her to say. You’ve got to love her. At least she’s not perpetrating like half of Hollywood that they are those made up dolls that they stylists create. Joy is real and you’ve got to admire her for taking her costumes off at the end of the evening and just being herself. I love that! I actually love the black sequin dress she’s wearing with the flower shaped satin appliques above. It’s effortlessly feminine!

This dress, oh my goodness. It shows a little skin but the color is amazingly complimenting to her skin tone (or mine for that matter–hint, hint). It makes it hard to believe that she’s so comfortable in jeans and a tee.

7 People/Things That Inspired My Style

Princess Dominique On Fashion

Only kidding. Don’t cast your vote. I just thought of a very fun meme that I could do. I was reading the extra THICK issues of the September magazines like I’ve been doing since I was 8 or 9 and they were stuffed with fun and fashionable stuff and I starting thinking, who or what inspired my individual style and so here it goes. Feel free to do it too:

1. First I’d have to say that being a child of the 70s inspired my style, the dashikis, afros, platform shoes, bellbottoms, tube tops, hot pants and all the retro stuff that’s making a comeback was edgy even before we knew what was edgy, so I have to credit that with giving me a peek at fashion back then–when we though dressing that way was just the norm.

2. Calvin Klein inspired me in the 80s. I loved his jeans, the way they fit and was especially hooked on his tightie whitie undies too. They were signature in my style as a teen and young adult and I’ve grown fond of the clean lines in his contemporary collections too.

3. My mom always told me that less was more and so I credit her with not only the pairing of my baby tees with my blue jeans, but my really really high heels. When my mom went to work when I was a kid, she wore heels EVERY DAY. There wasn’t a day that she didn’t leave out of the house in a pair of heels. I always admired that. Granted they make heels now that don’t crush and squeeze your toes now, but if it wasn’t for my mom I wouldn’t know how to dress up a bland outfit with a pair of fabulous heels. She still can’t believe that I wear heels all the time now.

4. Indie designers catch my eye. For some reason I like to stand out and not be a carbon copy of everything that’s being worn by celebrities. Don’t get me wrong, I do like “some” celeb stuff, but I don’t want to be a Xerox copy, so, for that, an underrated designer that isn’t getting much play works fine for me because they have nothing to prove and they’re not following trends or trying to duplicate something that’s already out there, their motivation is fresh, new and lively.

Note: Indie designers contact me and send me stuff, I will shout you out! *grin*

5. I would not even have my signature style if I wasn’t wearing Gucci. If I have on shades, guess what? They’re Gucci. They are the only frames I wear. I love their shoes too, but every time I save up enough to snag a pair the size 8 is ALWAYS gone. Poor me. I need to start that shoe fund again.  Gucci rocks though. It always adds a little Hollywood splash to my wardrobe–naw mean?

6. Anyone who knows me knows I wear diamonds. They are a part of my signature style. I don’t do any other kind of jewelry even though I may see things made out of turquoise and other stones that I absolutely adore, it takes a whoooooooooooooole lot for me to take off my diamond studs and diamond necklaces. I have my eyes on some cute diamond encrusted hoop earrings, a lovely diamond ring, a pave diamond necklace and maybe a slider chain with several diamond pieces one it that will spell out something. I love diamond–not big gawdy pieces, just tasteful pieces that are quality enough that they sparkle and you can notice a little twinkle from across the room. Diamonds to me are just vintage and I’m a vintage kind of girl.

7. Kerry Washington is my girl. She’s flawless. I don’t think that I’ve ever seen her in a dress that I wouldn’t wear. If you don’t believe me, test me and find out. Find a link to a photo of her and past the link in the comments section and I’ll tell you if I’ll wear the dress in the photo or not. *lol* This is going to be tres fun.
