Dominique is in the Building

Maybe I owe you explanation. Maybe not. *lol* it’s my blog right? But I haven’t been feeling much like blogging lately. So much foolishness on tv both in entertainment and the political arena is so depressing. I wonder how many people actually still stop by and read this blog. I don’t talk about sex or how much I’m getting so I guess the entertainment factor is pretty low around these parts. Then there’s that stupid Essence thing and I’m an inch from taking their banner off of my site. It’s so bogus with people voting for every post just to get the highest ranking. A battle of the blogs. I refuse to buy into that. I’m getting a steady stream of income from my blog from advertisers taking out ads and banners from which I earn real cash not pennies for clicks. My Adsense is pretty steady too. I think I get a check from them every 2-3 months. The Technorati ranking thing has me a little peeved too because I’m thinking 46? Or whatever it is now. Is that supposed to mean I’m not popular? There are popular blogs that aren’t earning revenues so as long as I’m earning I’m peachy.
I’m gearing up for the singles and couple weekend retreat at the end of this month. Yay! I love camping! I promise to take more pictures this time. I’m also working on The Plural Thing Companion (not the actual title) which is a follow up The Plural Thing. It’s coming along nicely and I can’t wait to drop it off on my agent’s doorstep. Atlanta was awesome. For those on my mailing list you’ve already got the link to the photos. So what’s new with you ladies and gents? Oh and those those shoes up there just ROCK!

I am still checking in on your blog. I was wondering where you were. What happened in the essence mag? I love the shoes and I have to buy the plural thing. I cannot wait to see the next one. Good luck to you and we all miss ya.

keep blogging! You have a really fab site girl - don’t quit! I love your taste in music and style. Since you’re into fashion, I wanted to let you in on these new webisodes from Toyota, who I work for, called If Looks Could Kill. They follow an aspiring fashion designer, Bianca, who’s involved in international espionage by night. If you’re familiar with the BMW shorts from a couple of years ago (Guy Ritchie, Madonna), these webisodes definitely have a similar production level.
Interactive: Toyota has gone one step further, the viewer can interact with Bianca to help her unravel the mystery that has suddenly become her life. I really enjoy the multiple levels; it adds a dimension of reality to the story and builds a unique relationship between the main character and viewer.

Launch party: We just had our official launch party this week on 6/11 in NYC— with a special performance by Keyshia Cole, and appearances made by Alexis Phifer, Rosci, Avant, Eric Benet, and Mashonda!
I’d really love your take on the first episode—Haute Pursuit—and discuss more as the other episodes roll-out. Myself, I’m still trying to figure out who the bad guy is—the ex, the boyfriend, the boss? Or maybe it’s Nana? lol
Again, would love your take because bloggers like yourself definitely have a good eye about what’s cool, hot and current. I would have contacted you via email but I didn’t know which the best way to reach you was. I hope I didn’t overstep my bounds by directly contacting you.
Don’t be shy!

Dominique, I think you’re awesome. I think you know how to run a blog. I think that you are a great writer, very meaningful. Keep doing your thang, and enjoying your life.
Keep getting that money, as well. Blogging kinda wore on me. I ended up closing down Minus The Bars. Now I simply contribute to my friends’ blog.
