DEAR PRINCESS!
I had a girlfriend who I confided all my secrets to and she cut me off cold–without reason. We went from eating out on weekends and chatting everyday to zilch. I haven’t reached out to her because as far as I’m concerned I’ve done nothing wrong. I do miss her friendship. What should I do? - Friendless

Unfortunately the only actions we can control are our own. On one hand, silence is no way to grow a friendship, but on the other hand your girlfriend could be going through any number of things; she could have gotten a not so favorable doctor’s report, a break up, or even lost her job–and the list goes on. As a friend you should at least reach out to her and show your concern–especially if the two of you have shared everything in the past. If in fact she has taken issue with something that you’ve said or done you can at least say, “I tried,” and maybe she’ll eventually share with you what she’s taken issue with so that you can learn from it and gain some much needed closure to the entire situation.
