Are You Text Happy? Stop Spam Texting Me!
March 8, 2008 – 8:51 amPosted Under: technology

Have you ever run across text happy people? I mean, they finally sign up to this UNLIMITED TEXT MESSAGING plan and they “assume” that everyone else has it to? There’s no problem when you’re sending a conversational text message from someone who actually “wants” to hear from you. But now, the same annoying things they used to send you via email (that you deleted), they’ve started sending you via your cell phone. And now, when your phone chimes and you think you have an important message from someone, it’s just them, sending another, “If you love Jesus” email trying to guilt you into spam texting other people and forward them the same mess they’ve become so enamored with. Seriously. Do some work. Find a hobby. But please for the love of God stop sending spam texts! Think! EVERYBODY DOES NOT HAVE AN UNLIMITED TEXT MESSAGING plan. Just you. So, hey, I’ve got a thought. Spam text yourself! Ya! Great idea, huh?

Ha! Thankfully my friends haven’t gone there. I’m not big on texting anyway & spam texting me would push me ova the edge for real.

Yeah and I don’t know how many different ways you can tell someone their messages aren’t cute or a replacement for an actual telephone call.

I met this guy last week and he’s text messaged me at least 30 times and only called 2 times. I replied to one of his text messages and asked him if he had a fear of talking. He then called and I told him I refuse to use up my 1000 text messages per month responding to “just him”. He thought I was kidding…I was serious. He text messaged me last night and I have yet to return any form of communication.
Texting is fine if I know you I guess…but during the ‘get to know me” stage, not so cool.

Yeah especially like you said, someone wants to used up all of your messages for the month when they could just pick up the phone. Crazy.
