In Honor of the two year anniversary branding what she does at her own domain with an interactive weblog titled “Princess Dominique Dishes Pop Culture” (www.PrincessDominique.com/blog) “The Princess” is hosting her first ever online poetry contest with “NO” reading fee. The Princess Dominique Dishes Pop Culture 2007 Poetry Contest runs from September 1 to September 30, 2007. Poems sent prior to the start or end date WILL NOT be considered for the contest. Here are the rules for the contest in 1-2-3!
1. Each published or unpublished poet is allowed to submit “one” poem of moderate length via the contact form to Princess Dominique Dishes Pop Culture on www.PrincessDominique.com/blog . The poem will be posted to the “contest” category on the website where friends, admirers and visitors can read and comment on it and just have a ball with what you’ve done with words. Note: Once you log onto the site click the drop-down menu and scroll to the “contest” category to load all of the entries. Please include the copyright symbol and author name at the bottom of the submission for easier cutting and pasting. Must be 18 years old at time of submission. Plagiarism will get you BANNED from future contests.
2. From the pool of submissions our judges will determine the top 5 entries beginning on September 30, 2007. This year our judges are Peggy Eldridge Love author of You Beckon, Fave the host of Friday Favecast and Jackie Young author of Love’s Reparations.
3. In October we will erect a voting poll where YOU the READERS will begin the voting process by narrowing the top 5 choices to choose a first, second and third place winner. You will only be able to vote ONCE. Yes, we will be tracking IP addresses. In fairness, poets can vote for themselves, but just once. Again, we’re tracking IP addresses and cheaters will have their votes disqualified.
On to the Prizes!
First Prize is $100 CASH plus a foil certificate and a candid interview on Princess Dominique Dishes Pop Culture
Second Prize is $50 CASH plus a foil certificate
Third Prize is $25 CASH plus a foil certificate
Prizes will be administered on or before November 1, 2007. Employees of Princess Dominique Multimedia and its subsidiaries are not eligible to participate. No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited. This contest is sponsored by Princess Dominique Multimedia in conjunction with Princess Dominique Dishes Pop Culture.
Authors, Publishers, Businesses are welcome to sponsor this contest with a banner ad or video ad for a nominal fee.
