I’m Not a Hooker!
June 22, 2007 – 1:32 pmYes I know that the World Wide Web browsers could have a field day with the title of this blog post, but that’s not my concern. My girl says I’m straight hatin’ on Baby Phat. Maybe. Okay, yep. I probably am. I don’t know. I think its a combination of their sleazy overpriced stuff and the unpalatable attitude of Kimora Lee (no longer Simmons). I thought that since she heads the designs that their products were a direct reflection of her and her tastes, but it turns out (and it pains me to say this) she may just be fashionable and cutting edge after all. Well, either it’s that or hookers have infiltrated mainstream fashion.
When I would browse their site (only on occasion folks) I would come across nasty, acrylic heeled shoes that, minus the pole begged you to bend over, offer up a crotch shot and “shake what your mama gave ya’”. Okay, here’s my point. I was trolling a website of a pair of women who came together to form a shoe business that I’m interested in interviewing and I found these.
Acrylic heels right? Cute right? Or at the very least NOT BAD. They do look Baby Phat-ish. *SHRUG* They didn’t have my size.
Then I got curious. I sometimes spread my shoe love across companies and spied these on the Victoria’s Secrets website.
Acrylic heels right? Cute right? You know I love them right? AND bought them, right?
I don’t normally buy shoes that have soles that can’t be replaced or have taps added to them to preserve the life of the shoe, however, these brown babies do have a section on the acrylic wedge in the back that can be “tapped” and so, they sit in the closet with the rest of my fabulous shoe collection. I tried them on, they came today and I’m already reprimanding myself for wanting to buy another pair of acrylic heeled shoes. Send up a prayer y’all. After all, trends and fads don’t last forever, but these are my first official pair of hooker shoes, but I’m not a hooker. Remember that!

Welcome to the darkside. Gotta say, I am NOT surprised that Vicky’s sells them…their stuff is a bit borderline at times too. Alas, I too own a pair of ‘hooker heels’ - I mean sandals with acrylic heels.

funny, I wore a pair of red heels to work last week and my co-worker called my a prostitute…lol, but I kinda agreed…I was experimenting.

Dom, they are on fiyah. LOL. How about I just found some similar to the second pair, except the strap double wraps around the ankle.

I got a halter dress that buttons down the front with a collar neck and A-line bottom. My shoes are a light mustard color.
