Photos, Traveling and Being Weird
May 7, 2006 – 11:50 amPosted Under: travel

I’m weird. See, I admit it. The more I think about things I do I realize how so not like other people I am. I started taking photos and can’t for the life of me figure out what my fascination is with fire hydrants. My goal is to photograph more fire hydrants as I travel. Weird. I also started taking pictures of signs when I travel now too. I particularly like signs from old country stores and will be uploading some soon. I’ll be taking some more when I’m on tour of course. I’m touring with Marcus Harris and our next stops will be Richmond, Virginia at the Average Girl Magazine Author & Book Fair Symposium on Saturday May 13th from 9-2pm at the Wyndham Hotel, 4700 S. Laburnum Avenue. It should be fun. We’ll be in Charlotte, North Carolina on Saturday May 20th first at Dynasty Books, 5471 Central Avenue at 12 noon and then at Conquering Books, 210 E. Arrowhead Drive at 3pm. If you’re in the area let’s do dinner! I’m traveling so more street signs coming soon. Weird people take pictures of signs, right?
Note: I get lots of information on jobs, casting and extra gigs, so, to stay abreast on that and fashion and celeb news join my discussion group at princessdominique-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. I get way too many to post them on the blog or to my mailing list. Thanks!

Cool. Let me know when you’re in Dallas.
And girl take your pictures. They might be weird to some, but an eye of art to others.

What is weird to some may be a masterpiece to others. Keep snapping your picture, you could end up being the next major photographer. Marcus is blessed to have you on his team!

Whoo hoo!! Can’t wait!! Now I gotta hunt up the “perfect” place to take MJ for a steak.
I’m sending out more emails & making calls this week to get folks to stop by. Don’t tell you-know-who but I’m buying more books, I don’t care WHAT he says!!

I think as we get older and have an expanding perception of what “we” think is fun and interesting we start getting into weirder things. HA! Things that no one else would ever think of. I bet you if you looked online there is probably a club of people who take pictures and maybe even collect fire hydrants and signs. HA! For some reason I am getting really interested in being a dominatrix. Don’t ask.

Taking pictures of signs isn’t weird at all. I find it to be somewhat interesting.

Everyone has something that makes them weird - or just different. Snap away - you may come up with an awesome collection and create a book someday.

OMG! I too take pictures of fire hydrants! I’ve grown up my whole life with a yellow fire hydrant in the front corner of my yard… That’s all we have here - yellow fire hydrants. So when I first saw a red one, it was a big deal. And than I went to Memphis, and there were SILVER fire hydrants… I think I put the photo of the silver one in my flickr… So if you feel the need, visit my page and check out my Flickr photos… ! Have a good week!

Dear, you ain’t that weird. I love taking pics of signage and things others think are weird. I especially like pics taken on the fly of nearby landscapes.
My favorite of one on the fly in Hawai’i is now my laptop wallpaper. My mother saw it one day and, amazingly, she thought it was the most interesting pic she’d ever seen because I froze the background frame, while slightly blurring the foreground. It’s just something about those shots. LOL

Photography is fun…even if the pics are silly to some! Let us know when you will be in the Houston area! I love supporting positiveness.
