Leaving Atlanta…
March 26, 2006 – 12:01 amPosted Under: travel

Well, I made it back home in one piece! I had too much to drink (one single pathetic glass of wine) but then my tolerance is low now so you know. I can’t do like I used to. But let me just say that even though we didn’t get to stay as long as we’d like it was great meeting up with some awesome people in the ATL. I was a tad tired because although I’m normally known to fall into sleep mode once the car starts moving, I didn’t sleep a wink–probably the excitement of traveling. We headed to Barley’s Billards on Peachtree Street NE and its a blazing hot black owned spot. The food was good and plenty and the company well…awesome! For the record it wasn’t a blogger meet up per se but I thought it would be nice to meet some bloggers while I was there ya know, so I put out feelers. So as per the photo above let me tell you who’s who. Bottom row left to right we have Colette: she’s a writer and I don’t think she blogs but she may start, moi: *Princess Dominique* I think she blogs, Marcus Harris: We should call him the Prince because he’s poetic royalty y’all. Top row left to right we have the musical maestro EJ lover of music and all things musically good and you know the Princess had to find out what he does in all of that non-musical downtime, Nikki and yes I realize that there probably about 12 Nikkis out there that we all mix and mingle with blogwise on a regular basis but click the link, her posts are mirrors for all of us so if you’ve been missing her blog stop doing that *bleep*, and last but not least Meko, she doesn’t blog but she was there with the book club host and my ATL girl Tia (photo of her in my flickr) and they were all great supporters of “Songs”. I was pouting though, I have to be honest because I missed Suezette and her gang. I interviewed her first for my audio show and I was looking forward to meeting her. She actually called me and said she was on her way to the restaurant but we couldn’t wait. The drive was long there and we had to be back home first thing in the morning, so, she arrived 10 minutes after we left *pout*. But we’ll be back with a book party slash in August, promise. So stay hip and happen and subscribe to the bloggeroo peeps and I’ll let you know, but for now I’m tired. *yawn* Almost forgot, missed Saga too *pout* but I’ll/we’ll be back.
All in all 5 a.m. wake up call notwithstanding, I had fun, and for the first time in my life as a writer I can truly say that I’m *feeling* this tour thing–finally because I used to loath touring, not meeting readers just touring. They do say that its all about the company you keep and for once, you know, I can absolutely ditto that.
Note: I get lots of information on jobs, casting and extra gigs, so, to stay abreast on that and fashion and celeb news join my discussion group at princessdominique-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. I get way too many to post them on the blog or to my mailing list. Thanks!

I think that’s so great that several bloggers showed up. Glad that you all had a wonderful time. I don’t like touring either but I love meeting folks. I really wish I did but I don’t. I’m finding that there are many authors who feel the same way. For me I get too wounded up, anxious, heart palpatations and stressed out. That’s bad isn’t it? I don’t know why but I am working on that. I love doing bookclubs. See I love speaking in front of small, medium or large groups. Weird huh? Maybe it is the fear for me of the unknown. So I am glad that it sounds if you have found your balance. Did you put St. Louis on your tour?

Rose the only thing I used to like was traveling to different place, now I think I’ve changed my mind permanently. I’m going to see if we can fit St. Louis only because my touring is limited to weekends. I’ll let you know.
Berry I know. So I’m not even a nun then!
Nikki did you get to see Suezette? She came after we left and we have to chat about the rawest blogger. I need to know and ummm, Shu remember?
Shelia it was fabulous. I feel renewed.
CeeCee thanks and there are more pictures but we’ll see if I can get them all on to the account.

And hey…I want to meet up with the ATLiens in the house. I’m in Suwanee. Come on now.
And this summer I’m hosting a reading series, so poets, singers, jazzheads, novelists, hit me up.
